Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Short version: Sorted does not collect, store, or sell any personal data. Your newsletter content is processed in real time and immediately discarded. No account is required.

1. About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sorted ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you use the Sorted app for iPhone ("the app"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling any information transparently.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or have access to:

There is no user account system. Nothing you do in the app is tied to an identity we hold.

3. Calendar access

Sorted requests permission to read and write to your iPhone Calendar (via Apple's EventKit framework). This access is used solely to save events you choose to add. We do not read, transmit, or store your existing calendar data. Calendar data never leaves your device.

4. Newsletter content and AI processing

When you import a newsletter, its text or images are sent to our secure processing proxy (hosted on Cloudflare Workers) which forwards the content to Anthropic's Claude API to extract event information.

The proxy uses a shared secret to verify requests come from the Sorted app. Your Anthropic API key is never exposed to the app or stored on your device.

5. Data stored on your device

Sorted stores the following data locally on your device only, using Apple's standard secure storage (UserDefaults and app sandbox):

This data is private to your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party. It may be included in iCloud backups if you have iCloud Backup enabled — this is controlled by your iPhone settings, not Sorted.

6. Purchases and subscriptions

In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple's StoreKit and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Third-party services

Sorted uses the following third-party services:

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking frameworks.

8. Children's privacy

Sorted is designed for use by parents and guardians. The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Child profile information (names and colours) entered by parents is stored only on the local device and is never transmitted to us.

9. Data retention and deletion

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to delete. All data stored by Sorted lives on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the Sorted app from your iPhone.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
